How to Install Plugins in WordPress

 

If you're new to WordPress and want to add additional feature to your website or blog then you have to  take help of plugins according to your need. You must be aware about plugins, as they add value to your website by providing special features according to your need. You only need to identify right one.

How to Install WordPress Plugins from WordPress Plugins Directory

To do so, you need to login to your WordPress admin dashboard and navigate to the plugins in the left-menu bar.

1. Click on Plugins.
2. Click on Add New.
3. Search for your required plugin in the search box.

Multiple search results will appear on the screen like this.

Suppose, you need to identify best plugin in 2021 or best WordPress ecommerce themes then you have to type in the search box your keywords and hit enter button.

You will find some related search results to your search. For example, if we are looking for SEO plugin, then 

1. We need to put these key words into search box and hit the enter.
2. Suppose, I need to install YOAST SEO here I will search for SEO Keyword in the search box  then I need to click on Install Now. 
3. Wait for the process to complete the installation.
4. Once Installed, We need to Activate it by clicking on ACTIVATE.

How to Install Plugins in WordPress Manually

There are many other websites or portals from where you can download your WordPress plugins as .ZIP file and upload them to your WordPress Dashboard.

All the external plugin you will download, you have to upload them manually to continue with them,

Follow the below steps to do so.

1. First you need to download the plugin, that will be downloaded in .zip file.
2. Log into your WordPress dashboard.
3. From the menu, navigate to the Plugin section and click ADD NEW.
4. From the top click on Upload Plugin.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Box will appear to upload file from your computer, upload the file.
6. Click Install Now.
7. Now, the Installation will start wait for its completion.
8. Click on Activate plugin.

Remember, Before downloading any plugin you need to be careful while choosing the plugin to download. Below are some points that you need to consider.

• Last updated – By seeing the last update you can be sure that this plugin is still managed and supported from the backend.
• Installation numbers – This number shows how much you can rely on plugin.
• Ratings – People who have already used the plugin can give you insight about the plugin.
• Compatibility – checks the version of WordPress that you are currently using, check if it is compatible or not with your current WordPress version.
